When Draco returned to the Common Room, he found Hermione sitting in her pajamas on an overstuffed sofa, reading a book. Noticing his presence, she looked up and scowled. "What do you want, Malfoy?"
"I need you to come with me to see something."
She glanced up at the clock. "Malfoy, it's midnight. If there are still students roaming the halls, let them roam. Filch'll get them."
"No, it's not that," said Draco as he rubbed his temples. "Will you just come on?"
Hermione rolled her eyes, pulled her legs out from underneath herself, and marked her page. "Fine," she said, grabbing her wand.
Draco nodded. "Right." He pushed the portrait open and walked out, waiting for her to follow.
"Okay, what is it?" Hermione asked as she flicked out her wand irritably.
"Just follow me." He pulled out his wand, too. "Lumos."
They began walking through the halls and corridors, Draco leading the way to the room. They stopped in front of the door and as Draco pushed it open, he glanced back at Hermione who was confused. They walked into the room and Hermione scowled at him again.
"What is this?" asked Hermione, eyeing the mirror.
"Keep your wand lit, okay?" Hermione didn't answer so he took it as grudging consent. "Nox," he said and lowered his wand.
"What are you up to, Malfoy? Where are we?"
Draco ignored the questions. "What do you see in this mirror?"
"I just see us." She continued to look at the mirror and it wasn't until then that she noticed the inscription at the top. She panicked a bit and glanced at Draco in the mirror. "And what do you see?" she asked, a little shakily.
"Just us," he said, smiling at her.
Hermione turned to him and grinned. "Nox," she whispered. Hermione threw herself into Draco's arms as her wand hit the floor.
