He blinked once. Then twice. And then a third time.

He had been on his way home from his part time job when he passed the park and saw a sight that stopped him in his tracks.

A familiar figure stood on the grass, eyes closed, body swaying to the beat of a silent tune. He seemed to be unaware neither of the pouring rain nor of the fact that his clothes were plastered against his slim form. Soaked tri-colored hair hung slightly past his shoulder making him appear to be a girl to those that didn't know him.

"Yuugi?" He asked, not sure if he was imagining things or not.

His eyes popped open, revealing bright violet orbs.

"Jou!" Came the surprised and gleeful reply.

"You're going to get sick," He admonished, walking closer to the other teen. "You need to-"

Before he could continue, he was tugged, hard, toward the shorter male. In his surprised, he dropped his umbrella.

"What the-"

"Come on, Jou, dance with me!"

"But, Yug, it's pouring out!"

"So?" Wide childlike eyes looked up at him mischievously. "Don't tell me you've never danced in the rain before."

The blonde looked embarrassed. "Actually…"

"Oh, Jou, you've been missing out! It's so much fun!"

Without another word, Yuugi placed Jou's hand on his waist and wrapped his own around Jou's neck.

Yuugi grinned at him. "Dance with me, I don't bite."

"But Yug, it's raining…" Jou protested.

"We shouldn't-"

His head was jerked downward and his objections silenced by a pair of soft lips. He forgot what he was going to say as he responded to the kiss. It was sweet, a gentle meeting of the lips.

When they pulled apart, Yuugi smiled at him. "What were you saying?"

"I was saying we should dance."

Yuugi beamed. "Did I tell you I love you?"

"Not often enough." Jou teased, pulling him closer. "Now, dance with me?"

"Of course."

Jou placed his chin on top of Yuugi's head as the other laid it against his chest.

"Thanks for sharing this with me…"

"Anything to make you happy."

They swayed to the song they shared within their hearts, escaping into their own world.

The rain continued to pour, the trees remained their only spectators and the umbrella lay forgotten on the grass.

Though the dance was short lived, the memory of it was forever…
