Disclaimer: I own nothing. Not even my belt.
Ok, so here in Ireland, we're only on the third ep, so forgive any inconsistencies with the series, though it's probably too short to hold any.
Just a drabble that came into my head one night.
A Little Less Conversation
Jaye rolled over and growled as her 'room mates' began to sing. Again.
The wax lion glanced at her as she mumbled a curse under her breath and stuffed her head under her pillow.
"I know a song that'll get on your nerves, get on your nerves, get on your nerves. I know a…"
The monkey looked over his glasses at her as the entire chorus of animal decorations fell silent. Jay jumped out of her bed and glowered around her room at the assortment of stolen items that regularly talked to her.
"What is it that you want from me? You haven't even asked me to do anything at the moment. You're just singing."
She threw her arms up in the air as she paced up and down the length of her trailer. "I cant take the singing anymore. Talk amongst yourselves why don't you. I don't care if you even have a normal (or as normal as you can get) conversation with me. I really don't care. Just NO MORE SINGING. Not to mention you're horribly out of tune."
For a moment, silence reigned in the small trailer and for the briefest of seconds, Jaye thought that it might be over. That her out burst had silenced those damn plastic animals once and for all. And then….
Jaye looked around her room for the source of the noise.
It was the wax lion, looking up at her expectantly. It jerked it's head, indicating her to lean down to it's level.
She raised an eyebrow. "You wanna talk?"
It nodded and she knelt down beside it leaning in close. It looked around, as if checking for listeners and then whispered to her.
"I think the monkey's cute."
Jaye jumped back and looked at the monkey who quickly hid behind its book with a smile.
She wasn't sure that originally inanimate objects could have sexual urges, of course there was the distinct possibility that they were trying to mess with her head again. She shook her head.
"You know what? Forget it. Forget I said anything. Go back to you're singing. It's less disturbing. I'm going out for a drink."
"It's three am."
She looked at the stuffed lizard, surprised. "Since when did you care?"
It shrugged and Jaye rolled her eyes. "I'm going, and I'm probably going to sleep at the bar."
With that, she swept out of the trailer leaving the animals to their own business.
The wax lion looked around at his cohorts.
"One… Hundred of bottles of beer on the wall, one hundred bottles of beer…."
Well, that's that. Feed back is always appreciated.
