I stand in the darkness. I am the darkness. We are one. The darkness surrounds me and holds me. We are lovers. There is an understanding between us. She is my mistress, summoning and calling to me. I lower my cloak revealing green eyes of emerald. Her hands are everywhere. She devours me. My blood is on her lips. She understands the hunger in me now. Her eyes look to the school. We are together in the darkness. I am complete now. The letter of love in my hand cuts my skin before I crumple to the ground. She covers me. The darkness embraces me again.

Smoke fills the night air. Another soul feeds on the darkness. He stands on a bridge between the light and the dark. Desire feeds on his soul. Desperate longing for one in the light he can never touch. Gracefully he moves, a silver-eyed animal in the darkness. There is a sensing of something amiss; in this he is never wrong. He has animal instincts honed by years of survival. Crouching like an animal in the grass he spies the blood. Reaching out for what must hide the source he pulls away the shimmering fabric. His eyes quickly scan the body; then snatches the parchment, somehow sensing it is for him. With a graceful swish the body levitates flying slowly toward the castle, silver eyes following its movement.

Senses are blinded by the overload of light; darkness has claimed him for what his mistress has branded him to be. He screams in the light for the one who would answer his call. Instinctively the one with silver eyes turn to become one with the darkness. The call is answered. Blood on the sheets in the over lit room. Lovers take to the night air to answer the darkness. Immortality is theirs.
