AN: This could be a sequel/third chapter to my fic "Choice". It's a totally different style, though, so Margaret and I decided to post it separately.

"Colonel Sheppard!"

"McKay! Feeling better?"

"Much, thank you. Listen, I wanted to ask you something."

"I can't turn anything on for you; I'm on my way to meet Ronon."

"I wasn't going to -- wait, Ronon?"

"Yeah, he's joining our team."

"Yes, really."

"Did you wanna ask me something or not?"

"Oh, right. Um, Radek told me, ah, how, how it was you that, uh, decided which, hrm, life-sign to extract, ah, from, from the dart."

"So, ah, so, so my question is, ah, did you know?"

"Yes, know! To understand, to realize, to comprehend: know! How did you know it was me?"

"...I didn't."

"You didn't?"

"No, I didn't. I took a chance, McKay, all right?"

"...But you were trying for me, right?"

"Of course."

"So, so there must have been something, some subliminal factor that influenced your decision between two identical blips on a screen!"

"Yeah, okay. You want the truth, McKay?"

"I think I'm entitled."

"I picked the dot with the most obnoxious blinking."
