A short piece of writing, from Virginia's point-of-view.

...oXo…

She is such a small thing, isn't she? So fragile, and yet… so full of life.

She cries when something is wrong… If she's hungry, or scared…

She's the most important person in the world to me, though she does not know it, yet. She can't speak, can't communicate like we can. But she loves without thought, and she doesn't care who I am.

She only knows that I am here for her.

Thoughts of anger haven't entered her mind. And she never questions my presence; she only accepts it as the way things are.

Her baby blue eyes blink up at me, as a small smile appears on her face. Her small hands fumble to hold onto my index finger.

In her eyes, I will never leave. I'll always be here for her.

Her love is unconditional, and she expects only a smile in return for her own.

We could all learn from her example…
