Disclaimer: I don't own either Godric Gryffindor or Salazar Slytherin, but this poem is all mine.

Summary: A poem from Salazar's POV depicting the last moments of Godric's life (or just some random Slytherin and Gryffindor). This is sort of an analysis on my own feelings of courage, and I felt it was applicable to Harry Potter. My dad laughed in my face when I read this to him, so I'm sort of nervous about putting it out here, but figured I would anyway.

The Difference Between He and I

He claims the nobler spirit,

He claims the higher love,

As he faces down the darkness,

While light shines from above.

His arms are weak and trembling,

And tears run down his face,

Terror roots him to the spot,

He will not leave this place.

He said I was a coward,

That fateful, dreaded day,

For I saw the goal impossible,

And bravely turned away.
