Punch.

That was for Volchok.

Punch.

That was for touching Marissa.

Punch.

That was for the Dean.

Punch.

One for Taylor.

Punch.

Another one for Oliver.

Punch.

Make that two for Oliver.

Punch. Punch.

Two more for Trey.

Punch.

Punch.

Punch.

Three for the fight.

Punch.

One for the coma.

Punch.

One for leaving.

Punch.

A third one for Oliver, the bastard.

Punch. Punch. Punch. Punch. Punch.

For Dawn. For his dad. For every night they had come home drunk. For the day his dad got arrested. For the day Dawn left him.

Punch.

One for Kirsten becoming an alcoholic.

Punch.

Theresa.

Punch.

The baby.

Punch.

Chino and everything that was fucked up because of it.

Punch.

Losing the baby.

Punch. Punch. Punch.

For almost being a father.

Punch.

Everything Marissa had ever done to him.

Punch.

Never being good enough for Marissa.

Punch.

Ryan no longer knew what he was punching for except that if felt good.

Punch.

Bloody knuckles and tears clouded his mind as the punching bag swung back and forth.

Punch.

Yet he couldn't stop punching.

Punch.

When was anything ever enough?

Punch.

There was no strength left in Ryan. Indents were on the punching bag from his repeated hits.

Punch.

He knew he should stop. Already his fists burned and he knew they would be swollen in the morning.

Punch.

Like a little kid begging to stay up for five more minutes, he pleaded for just one more hit. One more satisfying sound of fist and bag connecting.

Punch.

One more for good measure.

Punch.

And one for Volchok.

Punch.

After all, that was how this all got started.
