A/N This is a short story about Draco and Hermione's break up. It's short and kind of sad but I hope you like it anyway!
Warning I don't own Harry Potter or anything affiliated with Harry Potter.
Jealousy Turns Saints to Sinners
Draco Malfoy took his seat in the great hall for breakfast. He looked neat and tidy as always and the usual sneer upon his handsome face. He couldn't help but let his eyes wander over to the gryffindor table. He saw his ex-girlfriend kissing Harry Potter. His sneer became more fierce and his eyes narrowed in jealousy. Sure no one knew that he had dated the gryffindor princess, Hermione Granger. But he did care for her even they were no longer together.
Hermione had left him once she found out he had taken the dark mark. It was to be expected. He knew that they would never last but it didn't mean he didn't want to try. Hermione did not listen to him explain why he had gotten the mark. She had just told him that she couldn't be with a deatheater and she left leaving him broken hearted and alone.
Not even a month after Hermione left him did Hermione begin dating Harry Potter. They were the dream couple and it made Draco sick. He hated seeing his enemy touch and kiss Hermione. And Hermione seemed to enjoy being with Harry.
Over the two months Harry and Hermione had been together Draco's jealousy had began to worsen. Draco had started obsessing over Hermione and why she didn't love him as much as he loved her. He didn't think it was fair that he got left to his dismal future while she got to play princess to the hero. He hadn't wanted to be a deatheater but it was either that or death. And he didn't want to die.
Finally one evening Draco snapped. He knew that Hermione would be patrolling the astronomy tower that evening because of her Prefect schedule. So Draco quickly made his way to the astronomy tower to wait for her.
Hermione got to the tower and began to look around to make sure that there were no couples doing anything against the rules. She saw that the coast was clear and turned around to leave the tower when Draco stepped out in front of her.
"Hermione we need to talk." Draco said in a soft voice.
"We don't need to talk about anything anymore Draco. You became one of them! I'm with Harry now and I love him. That's all there is to it." Hermione said forcefully.
Draco just nodded and looked very sad.
"Well then I know what it is I have to do." Draco said slowly pulling out his wand.
Hermione looked shocked. She didn't move or even breath. She thought he would kill her. Draco placed his wand to his temple and muttered 'obliviate'. Hermione was definitely shocked. She didn't know if she should be hurt by the fact that he just erased all his memory of the time they had spent together. But she knew in the end it was for the best.
"What are you doing here Mudblood?" Sneered Draco who was completely unaware of the previous events.
"I was just finishing my rounds Malfoy now if you'll get out of my way." Hermione said pushing her way past him.
Before she ascended the steps leading out of the tower she whispered
"Goodbye Draco." Hermione let a single tear fall as she left the tower.
