Note: This is a songfic. It's a song called OUTSIDE by STAIND.Just so you guys know, I removed some of the extra choruses of the song. For those who haven't read A Fine Line Between a Friend and a Lover (Volume 1) and Complications of Life and Love (Voume 2), I strongly suggest you read those before reading this since this is a HUGE spoiler. It mentions the ending. It's all up to you.

Any stranger would take one good look at Wallabee Beatles and say that he is a strong one. His soaring height and his brawny arms were not the only evidence. It was the look on his face. He always had a proud, demanding expression on his face that people respected. In short terms, he was a man. "The kind of man who would never cry", people would say. It's true. Apart from his infancy, Wally was never known to cry. Even as a child, when he would scratch his knee or bump his head, not a single tear could fall from his eyes. He liked it that way. He intended to keep it that way. But now he stands, 18 years old, and for the first time in many, many years, a tear fell from his eye.

And you
Bring me to my knees
All the times
That I could beg you please
In vain
All the times
That I felt insecure
For you
And I leave
My burdens at the door

Wally would've done anything not to fall in love with his best friend, Kuki. From an early age of thirteen he knew that it would happen. That's why he tried to prevent it. He kept his feelings inside despite knowing that they were there. It was a painful thing to do, but he never stopped lying to her. Now here he stands, filled with regret, as he witnesses her with another man. She loved him. As stupid as it sounds, this is the time he chose to tell her that he loves her. This is when he swallowed his own pride to let her know the truth.

All the times
That I felt like this won't end
It's for you
And I taste
What I could never have
It was from you
All the times
That I've cried
My intentions
Full of pride
But I waste
More time than anyone

Wally thought he still had a chance. But sadly, he did not. He should've realized that Kuki would not leave Chad just like that. She loved him. She really did. It was painful for her to face the fact that she needs to break Wally's heart, even though she did love him once. Yet she knew that she couldn't turn away from the present only to travel to the past. And so she left him to deal with the consequences of his actions. She broke his heart. Wally remained in shock for days. Though he knew that is was his fault, he blamed her for his agony. He loved her so much that he was willing to hurt her for breaking his heart. He loved her so much that it seemed he also hated her.

But I'm on the outside
And I'm looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
'Cause inside you're ugly
You're ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you

Heartbreaks occurred and tears fell. But in the end, Kuki turned out single and Wally realized that his one desire was for her to be happy. Chad, after finding out what was happening between the two, ended the relationship peacefully. Despite this, nothing happened. Only a promise remained between the two. Someday, things will be just the way they want. They'll be alright.

All the times
That I've cried
All this wasted
It's all inside
And I feel
All this pain
Stuffed it down
It's back again
And I lie
Here in bed
All alone
I can't mend
But I feel
Tomorrow will be OK
