The darker version of life

Indifference, the ability to ignore one's feelings…
That's always there, when nothing's left
To acknowledge but to ignore
Requires practice, a coldness that;
Cultivates that shield around you,
Around that dead soul of yours…

I live to the see sun burn,
I live to see the ice crawl over
The cement, stone, wood;
All that surrounds us…

The steps behind me give way
Before Ice's cold fingers.
Ice is shunned as a danger.

Ice is alive as we are.
A cold and unforgiving being,
No mercy in its soul.

Are we as different?
Are we stronger or better?
Or are we just stupid…?
