Go to Sleep Y'Little Baby
A one-shot.

She brushed her soft auburn hair away from her brilliant green eyes, staring down into an identical pair of eyes in the peaceful face of her little boy. She rocked him gently in her loving arms, humming no particular tune at all. Just the sound of her angelic voice was enough to calm her child. His favorite lullaby was enough to lull him to the sweet land of dreams.

"Go to sleep y'little baby...
Go to sleep y'little baby...
Just you and me and your daddy makes three
Don't need nobody but the baby..."

She sang softly, her lilting voice carrying the love she felt for the cherished prize in her arms. His eyes were already drooping as she carried him up the narrow wooden staircase. She sang another simple verse.

"Go to sleep y'little baby...
Go to sleep y'little baby...
Just you and me and a blanket for three
Don't need nobody but the baby..."

His tiny eyelids were slowly closing over those bright eyes, as they stared sleepily up at the angel cradling him lovingly. She would always protect him.

"Go to sleep y'little baby...
Go to sleep y'little baby...
Just you and me and the fairies are three
Don't need nobody but the baby..."

It was the final verse, right on cue, her precious jewel slipped off to another world filled with family, warm blankets, and fairies. Her satisfied smile lit up the nursery as she sat in her rocking chair and continued to hold her pride and joy.

Her little baby.

A/N: Just wanted to write a drabble of sorts with that little lullaby.

Disclaimers: 1. J.K. Rowling owns the two characters. 2. I slightly modified the Allison Krauss/Gillian Welch song, "Didn't Leave Nobody But The Baby," to make the lullaby.
