Go to Sleep Ye Little Baby
A one-shot by: Freedom Isnt Free

She brushed her soft auburn hair away from her brilliant green eyes, staring down into an identical pair of eyes in the head of the little boy she held. She rocked him side to side in her loving arms, humming no particular tune at all. Just the sound of her angelic voice was enough to calm her child. His favorite lullaby was enough to lull him to the sweet land of dreams.

"Go to sleep ye little baby...
Go to sleep ye little baby...
Just you and me and your daddy makes three
Don't need nobody but the baby..."

She sang softly, her lilting southern voice carrying the love she felt for the cherished prize in her arms. His eyes were already drooping as she carried him up the narrow wooden staircase. She sang another simple verse.

"Go to sleep ye little baby...
Go to sleep ye little baby...
Just you and me and a blanket for three
Don't need nobody but the baby..."

His tiny eyelids were slowly covering those magnificent green orbs, as they stared sleepily up at the Irish angel cradling him lovingly. She would always protect him.

"Go to sleep ye little baby...
Go to sleep ye little baby...
Just you and me and the fairies are three
Don't need nobody but the baby..."

It was the final verse, and right on cue her precious jewel closed his eyes and slipped off to another world filled with family, warm blankets, and fairies.

Her satisfied smile lit up the nursery as she sat in her rocking chair and continued to hold her pride and joy.

Nobody would hurt her baby.

A/N: Just wanted to write a drabble of sorts with that little lullaby.

Disclaimers: 1. J.K. Rowling owns the two characters. 2. I got the tune and the idea for the lullaby from O Brother, Where Art Thou, "Didn't Leave Nobody But The Baby."
