Summary: Remus is tired, laying in bed, and starts to think. A short one shot. RLNT
AN: Please see my forums for my thoughts on the idea of "being reported" if I don't raise the rating.

He was tired. Exhausted even.

Two weeks he had been in the lair of the other werewolves, wondering if they knew what he was really there for.

That had also been two weeks lost thinking about her. He had wondered if she was all right, if she was able to cope with him distancing himself from her.

When he had arrived, their eyes had met. The same discord was burning in her eyes as the day he told her he wanted to end their relationship for her own safety. She hadn't cared, said he was being noble and that he should leave it up to her to decide if he was too dangerous or too old for her.

Then again, she didn't understand.

She hadn't seen the way the werewolves, even in human form, were like vicious monsters. Nor had she seen how their eyes had gazed upon him the day of his arrival into the pack. Through all the beating and attacks on him, when he first arrived, it was a miracle he was still alive and not like them.

Remus sighed heavily and buried his face in his pillow.

He was rather tired and still him mind was racing and not wanting to let him sleep. He ignored the slight squeak of the door when it opened. Perhaps it was only Molly checking on him. Good, kind, Molly making sure all her 'children' were sleeping peacefully.

No. It wasn't Molly. He knew that the instant he felt a warm, lithe body huddle under the covers behind him. The body was just as naked as his own.

He had told Tonks that things could not be like they used to be. But she still persisted. Hell, he felt a part of him still persisted because it seemed the only way either of them could sleep was in the partnership of the other.

Her fingernails traced a path down his arm and side.

Remus opened his eyes as he delicately caught the hand as it trailed over his hip. Slowly he turned over to face the little brown haired nymph. The little nymph with the sad eyes made his heart melt, it made him feel more human than he had felt in weeks.

Suddenly, Remus wasn't so tired and exhausted anymore.
