Forbidden Love

Disclaimer- I'd like to thank JK Rowling for starting the world of Harry Potter, and The Walkmen, for writing "Little House of Savages", which in it's own weird way inspired this one-shot.

A/N: Yes, I know that this totally doesn't fit with JKR's explanation of the next book and, but I just couldn't give up the opportunity to write this! Enjoy the excessive cheese, and feedback is more than welcome!

Ginny ran into a small corner of the library, tears streaming down her face. How could he possibly always be this dumb, this absurd? She cared for him so much, would it really kill him to do the same sometimes?

I know he's Harry Potter and he's always hesitated to show he cares, but I'm his girlfriend and have been for a year, don't I get some credit?' she thought miserably. It just hurt. A lot. How she cared so much and she knew he cared a lot too, but was always frustrated when he acted the opposite, and picked little fights with her so he wouldn't get too attached. It was just too much for a young girl of 16 to handle.

And then, as if someone up there was trying to make her day worse, he came in, his blonde hair brightly shining in the dim light. Ginny quickly wiped away her tears before he noticed. This had been her spot, her haven, and now he knew about it too.

"Weasley". He saw and greeted her with the usual hostility, but without the usual trademark Malfoy insult and smirk. Ginny immediately knew something was wrong; there was never a chance Malfoy gave up to insult her.

It was a long silence, as if both of them were trying to get into each other's minds, analyzing the situation, and the problems involved.

"So," said Ginny, breaking the silence, "Want to talk about it?"

"No, not really." He didn't even look at her.

"Oh, all right then" Ginny said, once again thinking about the conversation at hand.

They sat in silence for what seemed to Ginny like an eternity. Finally, she spoke up, once again, in hopes of an answer.

"Troubles of the heart?" That's why she was here.

Malfoy merely grunted, and Ginny took this as a yes. So, she thought, some lucky girl has stolen Draco's heart. Poor thing, she silently laughed to herself.

And then it happened. Draco still doesn't know why he did it, but it happened. One moment they were both thinking, and the next, he grabbed her face and kissed her with a burning passion, as if he never wanted to let go.

Ginny, did not know how to react. Before she could register what was happening, it was all over. He pulled away, and left. Just like that, with no explanation, with nothing. And then, of all things, she smiled. She had never felt such passion, and it was wonderful. After a minute, she got up, and left, everything left behind, in that small room in that small corner of the library.

"Ginny!" Harry cried as the redhead entered the Great Hall that evening. He immediately began apologizing and telling Ginny that he truly loved her, and that she needed to be patient with his naivety, and that he was trying as hard as he could. Ginny instantly forgave him. How could she not? He loved her very much, and very sincerely, and she felt exactly the same way. As he squeezed her in a loving hug, out of the corner of her eye, she saw blonde hair and a smirk. And she told herself that she would never forget what happened in that small room in that small corner of the library.
