Disclaimer: I don't own CCS. How tragic.

A/N: hi all! I haven't written in the longest time! But I do hope you enjoy this super short fic. Just a little oneshot for Eriol's perspective on a certain topic I'm sure some girls have wondered about. This fic is meant to be relaxing, sweet, and maybe even mildly humorous. :) Enjoy!

Apples on a Tree

Eriol and Tomoyo sat below a large apple tree, which shaded them in the late afternoon. The breeze lifted Tomoyo's luscious locks of hair, tickling Eriol's chin. The atmosphere was cool and calm, being just the average Sunday afternoon.

Eriol chuckled. "Tomoyo-san, your hair is tickling me."

"I know. Don't you just love my hair?" Tomoyo joked, as she took a tuft of her hair and tickled him some more.

"I'd do the same, but my hair doesn't quite match yours in length."

She giggled and ruffled his midnight blue hair. The pair settled down as Tomoyo rested her head on Eriol's shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around her. They seemed to share a 'lovers and friends' relationship, which both were quite fond of.

As thoughts swam in Tomoyo's head, a certain question popped up that she just had to ask about. "Umm Eriol-kun, can I ask you something?"

"You just did."

"Ok can I ask you TWO questions?"

"Well, I was just wondering…is there something wrong with me?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean…" she was not quite sure just how to put it, so she figured she'd just say it right out. "Well Sakura-chan has Syaoran, and I know she deserves him because she's such a wonderful friend and person, but how come I still don't have someone? I mean I know I'm not as great as Sakura-chan of course, but I'm not that bad, am I? Is there something wrong with me—something that repels boys?"

Eriol chuckled at her childish query. "Tomoyo-san, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! You're so much more beautiful in your own way. And of course you'll find someone one day…I guess it's just not time yet. Or maybe that someone is right in front of you, but you just don't see it yet."

"Well I don't want to wait for him anymore. What's keeping him?" she laughed.

"Hmm…" he looked around for something to compare the situation to and found the apple tree to be the perfect analogy. "I think you'd understand if better if I explained differently: girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are on top, and some boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they're afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just eat the rotten apples on the ground, the easy ones to get. So the apples on the top think something's wrong with them; but in reality, they're amazing. That's why you have to be patient and wait for the right one, the one who takes a chance and isn't afraid to brave the height." (I do not own this girls and apples thing! My friend sent it to me a long time ago and I just wanted to use it cuz I like it. :))

"How insightful," Tomoyo replied, pondering for a moment with a sweet smile. "So I just have to be patient and wait for the brave boy," she laughed.

"Maybe you don't."

"What do you mean?"

"Well maybe there's a boy who's already braved the height, and is just waiting for you to notice."

"Where?" She looked up at the apple tree. "I don't see anyone."

"Stop joking around!" They laughed.

"Well, maybe the 'apple' is just waiting for the boy to take a bite."

"Really? Well why didn't it say so earlier?" He leaned down towards her alluring lips and 'took the first bite'.
