Gabriel and Andromeda left together to explore the universe. She never found out about the transmition from the Balance of Judgement. Now it was inside Gabriel, fighting for control. It would eventually win, but for now, he would enjoy his time with Rommie, the love of his life.

He could hear it inside him, yelling for control. Let me free! You work for me, you must abide by what I say!

Not anymore. I live free of you.

Soon, I will have you. Soon, you will have no choice but to obey.

Leave me alone! I'll fight for as long as I can.

I can make your life miserable. I can hurt you and Rommie.

No! Leave her out of this! She has nothing to do with any of this!

You put me in her. Eventually, she'll figure out what happened to you and return to her ship.

They would have built a new avatar already.

It doesn't matter. I'm part of her forever.

"What should we see first?" Rommie asked Gabriel, bringing him out of his fight.

"You choose first. I don't care as long as I'm with you." He knew what the Balance had said was true. But he decided to spend these few weeks with her.

The few weeks he had were spent having an amazing time with Rommie and fighting off the Balance. Finally, he couldn't fight it anymore and became a slave in his own avatar body.

The Balance tried to pretend that it was Gabriel, but Rommie knew something wasn't right. He was too forceful and temperamental. When she asked him about it, the Balance told her the truth. Everything except that it was part of her as well. She would find that out soon enough.

He tried to destroy her. She took a ship and tried to flee but he caught up with her. She sent out a hail, asking Andromeda for help against the Balance.

The ship received the distress call and found the small ship, along with the Balance. It aimed at the Balance, but before shooting, they caught a conversation between the two ships.

"This has to be done," said Gabriel. It was truly Gabriel now. He was able to appear only for a little while, enough so Andromeda could destroy him.

"Harper can help you."

"No, Rommie. We both know I need to die so the Balance can be destroyed. Just know that I love you and I always will."

"I love you too. Good bye."

"Good bye."

The Andromeda took this as its cue to fire. As the weapons flew, Gabriel tried to tell Rommie about the Balance inside her, but couldn't do it in time. His ship was destroyed and as far as Andromeda knew, the Balance was gone for good.
