Munch woke in the middle of the night and stared at his girlfriend from the bed as she looked at the city from the balcony of his house. She wore just one of his dress shirts in the freezing weather and stared at the lights. The woman shivered in the cold and held the shirt tighter. Munch quietly got two terrycloth robes and two pairs of slippers, putting one of each on, and took the others to his love. She was shivering now in the snow and her teeth chattered. John dropped the slippers in front of her, startling her, and helped her step into them before putting the robe on her. He put his arms around her waist to tie it securely and pulled her back to rest against his chest.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly and pressed a gentle kiss to her neck. She sighed and shook her head. "What's the matter?"
"He could've died, John," she whispered as tears welled. John sighed and held her closer, swaying back and forth soothingly.
"I know, Baby, but he's fine. He's okay. We got him out in time. The bruise on the back of his head was probably his worst injury." Then he turned her around to face him.
"But-," John cut her off with a tender kiss before reaching up to stroked her cheek. He touched his forehead to hers.
"Shh, no buts. Now, let's get back inside before we both get sick. Come on," Munch said and lifted her into his arms. He carried her inside and laid her gently on the before closing the sliding glass door to the balcony. Seeing that Olivia had deposited the robe and slippers on the floor, he picked them up and put everything away.
John crawled into bed next to his love and pulled her into his arms. However, when she pressed her face into his neck, he had to suppress a gasp at the icy skin.
"Baby, you're freezing," he whispered and held her closer. "Do you want anything?"
"Just hold me, John. Please, just…just hold me," she replied softly and shivered. Suddenly, she felt a large, warm hand reach up between their bodies and rub her chest. He could practically feel the question to his actions.
"It'll help warm you up. Just close your eyes. Relax. I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere."
"I love you, Sweetheart," she told him, pressing a kiss to his neck.
"I love you, too, Liv."
