His baritone voice sent an involuntary shiver down body, as it always did when he referred to her that way. It was reserved only for her, she knew – he had never used it for anyone else. She had only realized it just now, though. She wasn't sure why she hadn't noticed before.
His breath caressed her neck as he stepped close behind her and spoke near her ear. Her body betrayed her again with a shiver, and she felt the warmth on her neck where his breath hit it. She knew from his small chuckle that he had noticed her reaction.
She vaguely wondered in the back of her mind why she didn't pull away when his hands slipped along her waist and pulled her against him, but once his body was pressed against hers, any logical thoughts she might have had left vanished.
His chest rumbled against her back when he spoke, and she could have sworn that his lips brushed against her ear. Her knees were weak and trembling from the contact; the only reason she was still standing was because he was holding her up.
She had thought that this would couldn't possibly have any more effect on her, but apparently when whispered breathily in her ear and followed by a kiss, it had the ability to set her soul on fire. Her legs finally gave out, but before she fell he caught her so she could slowly drop to the ground.
She had been maneuvered without noticing so that she was now face to face with him. His eyes were serious and focused completely on her – she could see her reflection in them clearly. Without thought, she leaned forward...
Naoko sat up suddenly, breathing heavily and bathed in sweat. She blinked a few times as if not knowing where she was. Upon realizing what she had just dreamt her hands flew to her head to muss her hair about.
"There! All gone! What a nightmare!" she said cheerfully before standing to start her day.
Yamada Naoko, though in denial, would now remember not to eat too much natto before bed.
