Henrika- Because Reno and Rude in the movie were awesome, and because Reno has been threatening my muses with his EMR if he doesn't get at least a short fic, ta da!
"Eeek! A spider! Get it away from me! Get it away!"
"You're a damned Turk. We ain't afraid of spiders."
"I know that!" She hissed. "Just kill it for me already!"
"Geez, how did someone like you ever become a Turk?" Reno asked as he bent down and chased the small black spider onto one of the reports he had been ignoring for two weeks, much to Tseng's consternation.
"With skill, determination, and some actual organization skills." The blonde woman stuck her tongue out at him after making sure their superior wasn't in the room. "Why are you saving that thing? Just squish it already."
"Elena." Rude gave her a look over his sunglasses that shut her up. Reno waved to him as he walked out.
"Be right back partner."
"Of course. Though I'll ask you to define "right back" before you go." Rude smirked as Reno flipped him off, his long crimson ponytail swishing out of the room behind him.
"Why'd you glare at me?" Elena asked, sitting back down in her chair.
"Did you know that he saves all the bugs that get inside?" Elena shook her head. "All the ones that people would just crush under their feet he brings back outside and sets them free."
"He's right. How did you become a Turk? We're supposed to be perceptive about things."
"I am perceptive." She huffed. "I knew when you two snuck out on work to go bet on the chocobo races."
Rude gulped nervously before reverting back to his serious demeanor. "The Sector 7 plate was dropped. Someone had to push that button. It was because of the job that Reno had to do it. If you had the knowledge that you had murdered so many people with something as simple as pressing a button, squished them like they were just bugs, wouldn't you want to save a few?"
"What's up with this place, yo? I leave for two minutes and all the fun goes with me?" Reno said as he walked back into the office.
"Hmm? What the?" He said, upon finding Elena suddenly hugging him fiercely. "What the hell's wrong with you?"
"I'll try not to step on any more bugs." She said.
Glancing over at Rude, who merely nodded at him, he managed to figure out what she was talking about. He put a hand on the back of her head and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"Thanks. It's nice to know that someone else out there is looking out for them."
Henrika- Because Shin-ra treated the people as nothing more than bugs and squished them without really caring. Pardon the bad taste in puns.
