I really wanted to explore Kakashi's thoughts and feelings when he was being tortured in the Tsukuyomi by Itachi, and so I got this slightly disturbing vignette.

Tsukuyomi

Thunk.

It was the dull sound of sharp steel meeting resisting flesh. It was the sound of a butcher's shop, the steady thud of a cleaver hacking grisly hunks of meat into neat pieces.

Thunk.

Thunk.

Screams began to mingle with the constant sound of the

Thunk.

The screams lost all humanity. They were harsh, grating shrieks; incoherent syllables unwillingly torn from lips, mangled and unintelligible. Only raw emotion was conveyed. Pain. Fear.

Thunk.

Thunk.

Thunk.

He resorted to begging, pleading. Crying. But those cold eyes showed no mercy. The only response Kakashi got was cold steel quenching his warm blood.

Thunk.

Thunk.

Thunk.

"Kakashi, are you alright? Can we open our eyes?

Kurenai's voice.

"A second passed and then we heard you scream. "

Kakashi vented a joyless "hah". One, single second had passed. The longest second of his life.
