Tap... Tap-tap-tap... Tap-taptaptap-ta--

"Robin. Do you have to do that?"

The young sidekick paused from drumming his fingers to look at Batman innocently and tilt his head to the side a bit. "Do what?" he asked, his tone stayed ever-true to his expression.

When Batman let out nothing but an annoyed sigh and a hard glare, Robin shrugged it off. There were a few moments silence, which was one of the few breaks that the dark knight had through the whole trip. They were heading half-way across the United States and even in the Batmobile, it seemed to be taking forever. Especially with that boy managing to find something small but obnoxious to gradually grind on Batman's nerves-- a perfect example being the repetitive drumming of his fingers against the arm-rest... and it had just resumed.

Tap-tap-tap-tap... taptap-ratta-tat-tap-ta--

"Robin," Batman growled more sternly. "Stop. Doing that."

A slight smile was playing across Robin's lips, but he didn't say anything. He stopped, however, and began gazing out the window; it wasn't long before he found something else to annoy the man with. A small popping sound spotted the air after a short, few precious moments of tranquility. They would briefly pause, start again, then stop, only to start up once more. Had there not been a mask in place concealing the movement of his eye (for the most part), Robin might have noticed that Batman was starting to get a severe eye-twitch. It hadn't taken him very long to figure out that it was just Robin clicking his tongue, which was no doubtedly just as annoying as the drumming of his fingers at the very least.

Batman's warning was much more stern and aggravated this time. Of course, Robin stopped, but his smile had just widened into a smirk. One that was well hidden from Batman. Still gazing out the window, a melodical hum was coming from the boy after a few more tantalizing minutes of silence. Given ten seconds, the hum had evolved into words. "I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves. I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, and this is how it goes! I--"

"Richard. John. Grayson. Would it hurt you to be quiet for the rest of the trip?" Batman finally snapped.

The boy wonder now looked at his mentor, a grin visibly tugging at the corners of his lips. "Come on, Bruce. It's boring in here. I have to have something to do," he said kiddingly.

"You can find something to do that isn't distracting."

"Jeez. You're no fun," Robin retorted, crossing his arms over his chest.

At long last, Robin ceased his distracting noises and actions for the moment... and just when Batman had thought they were going to have a peaceful, quiet trip the rest of the way, Robin had irrestistably broken out into "This Is The Song That Never Ends."
