DISCLAIMER – Doctor Who and all the rest, belong to the BBC. This story is mine.

NOTES – I'm not that knowledgeable about DW-canon, but this is just something I was thinking about after the episode "The Impossible Planet".

Doctor, My Doctor

I'm waiting for you, Doctor. I'm still here, though you might think I've gone. I'll wait until you come back to me.

I know you're still close, Doctor. I can still sense you through the swirling waves of gravity, space and time. Our minds still touch, but you seem distant. You are close, but far away.

I've waited Doctor, waited for longer this time. Are you lost? Are you as lost without me as I am without you? We are the same and we are part of each other; we have grown together in ways none of your companions will ever understand. It is more than telepathy. I see into your heart and your mind and your heart, and then I take you to all the places you ever wanted, or ever needed, to go.

I depend on you, Doctor. I can't leave without you, I have to wait even though there is almost no hope. You tried to send me away before, but that didn't work. You know I need you to come back to me, you know I'll fade away to nothing without you. But you keep the key with you everywhere you go, it's the only real part you can take, but it's one of the most important. You can find me with that key.

You say you're alone, Doctor. The lonely God. But don't forget that I'm here, and I've always been here with you. I'm here when they leave, or you leave them. I'll be here after Rose. Like I was after Ace. And Jamie. And Sarah-Jane. And Susan. And Adric.

And that is the way we are supposed to be, Doctor. You can't be the Doctor without me, just as I would have nowhere to go without you. Whatever your face; whatever you do; and whatever you've done, I'm here with you.

I'm waiting for you, Doctor. I'm still here, though you might think I've gone. I'll wait until you come back to me.

And I'll wait until you find me.

You always find me. You always have before.

Doctor. My Doctor.

My Doctor.

Please hurry.
