Title: Concrete Angel
Warnings: Character death, dark themes, abuse, yuri
Summary: In a world where love is the greatest crime, two girls find comfort in eternity.
A/N: Inspired by the song 'Concrete Angel' by Martina McBride. There are no names, just pronouns, but just keep in mind that it's about Raven and Terra and it should be easy to follow.
It began innocently enough. A conversation in study hall, which then extended to lunch, uninterrupted by their non-existent meals. She had an abusive father, while she lived with an older man; no relation. They were different, and yet similar, and soon there was nothing innocent.
They fought, clashed, and then pulled themselves and each other back together just to do it again.
But they were content, and after the fights they were better, both as individuals and as the 'us' that they had become. No one knew, of course, for her father would never let her be loved, and the man she lived with considered her his property. Still, they were happy.
Then, one quiet evening they were discovered. He found them and, his property desecrated, flew into a rage. When help arrived, it was too late. Where there had been two girls, there was now only one, and the next day, there was none.
The solace they had found in one another had been too much when both were alive, and not enough with one gone. So, with the soul of the only person she had truly loved swiftly fleeing, the girl made a decision. It didn't take much, and when the end came, it didn't hurt.
In a small cemetery on the edge of town, there stands two small headstones, covered in roses that grew from nowhere and butterflies that shouldn't be.
And in a much happier place, two girls love, forever safe.
