Link meets Vincent Van Gogh!

NOTE: I do not own the characters to this fanfic. Plus it's kinda short, too. It may be helpful if you have taken an art history class or know a little bit about Van Gogh to understand this fic.

Link was taking a stroll in a Hylian village one day when he spotted a small house at the end of the road. He went to the small house and knocked at the door.

"Come in," said a frail voice. "The door's unlocked and my rent money is on the dining table. It's not much but it's all I have for now."

Link came in and faced the man with the frail voice. "Oh, you're not the landlord!" he said.

"Oh, no," said Link.

"King Link," said the man. "I'm sorry for not paying my rent like I should. Please forgive me."

"Oh, I'm not here to punish you, pal," said Link. "I'm just here to visit. I was taking a walk through this village and saw your house at the end."

"My name is Vincent Van Gogh," said the man. He showed link a still life he was painting.

"I'm not done with it yet but all I need to do is paint these bananas," he said.

"Being an artist, I assumed you be rich or something," said Link.

"On the contrary, I'm not," said Van Gogh. "I make a living out of being an artist and my paintings don't sell well. I only have enough money to barely make it. My financial situations and my social life depress me. Last week, one of my admirers, Paul Gauguin, visited me. He is a great painter but we got into an argument and he left. That's when I..."

"...did something to your ear," Link finished, looking at a bandage around one of Van Gogh's ears.

"Well, at least I have found my niche," said Van Gogh in a sigh.

"Hey, I'll buy your still life. It looks cool," said Link.

"If you're buying it because you pity a poor man like me, then I won't sell it."

"No, really," said Link. "They're awesome. I've got an art gallery in my castle. Maybe you can be my court painter or something."

"No thank you Link," said Van Gogh. "I'm much content painting for myself."

"Well, if you really need the job, let me know."

"I'll be sure to do that, Link."

Later on that week, Link added Van Gogh's paintings to his art gallery. He stood back to admire them.

"Hmm," thought Link. "I wonder if that Monet dude wants to sell some of his paintings."
