I Never Understood Why Okay, this is my first One Shot. Be nice, okay? I've never tried anything like this before. Enjoy! ...

You've been gone 2,129 years, 7 months, 20 days, and 10,340,09 seconds.

That's too long for me.

That way you always used to cock your head to one side, I never understood why. The way you always insisted on learning something new, but never getting to the point until someone got the idea themselves. The way you used to stand. The way you used to rest your head in your hands and look out at the area around yourself in interest.

I never understood why.

I take your form out of respect.

But I could never mirror you perfectly.

I never understood the way you worked, or why you did the things you did.

And I don't think I ever will.

I remember the things you did for me, although I've never done anything for you. Nothing worth remembering, anyway.

The way you always cared for everyone around you. And although you couldn't help them yourself, you tried your best. That usually meant through me.

But I didn't mind.

I liked being in your service.

You're the only person I've ever really cared for.

Why did you have to leave? Why did you have to change? Why wouldn't you let me help you, save you? You could've survived.

You didn't have to go.

But you did.

It's ironic, really. You wanted to be remembered for all eternity.

And you are.

By no one but me.

That way you were always ready for a challenge. The distinct--yet special--color of your eyes. The way you smiled. The color of your skin. The way you looked at humanity. The way you slightly squinted your left eye and tilted your head to the left when you were engaged in thought.

I gave you a challenge and you went for it, without question.

But then again, it was your idea.

You were different, special.

That's why you left so early.

You deserved to be remembered.

And you are.

Well, there you have it. My angsty one shot. Hope it was OK, at least. And check it out, I made it to a computer! Yay! I'll see if I can add another chapter to Ptolemy's Return, but I make no promises. Oh, and if I have any spelling mistakes, it's because the computer I'm using doesn't have spell check. And we all know I can't live without it! Well...REVIEW!
