Behind him in the Batcave, Bruce could hear the teleporter sounding, following by the repeated clicking of foot heels on the floor. "Hello, Princess."
She stopped next to his chair. "I need to ask you something."
His eyes shifted quickly to her, giving himself only a second to ogle her form before staring back at his computer screen. "And you couldn't have said it over the comm. link?"
"It's a private question."
Without looking up, he told her, "Fine. Go ahead and ask."
The princess hesitated a moment before saying, "Why don't you ever use it?"
"The reason. The one reason you know that will stop me from waiting for you, from wanting you."
He stopped playing with the computer, leaning back in his chair. "And what would that be?"
In one fluid motion she was sitting on his lap, having pushed the cowl back so she could look into his eyes. "That you don't feel the same way. That you don't want me. You don't yearn for me the way I do you…"
A lump had formed in his throat. "Maybe I don't want to," he whispered, arms wrapping around her. "Maybe I want to know that you'll be around when I finally tell you how much I need you in my life. I don't want to send you away before I get to tell you that I love you."
"Don't take too long, Bruce." She caressed his cheek, sending a shiver down his spine. "I'm a patient woman, but even I can't wait forever." With that, they were kissing, devouring each other with need and passion. His hands held firmly to her hips, as he arms would themselves around his neck. When both needed air, he sighed as she pulled back, looking into her eyes and—
"Good morning, Master Bruce."
It took a moment for him to realize that he wasn't in the cave and Diana was—very unfortunately—not sitting in his lap kissing him. In fact, he was in his bed in the manor and Alfred was picking out a suit for him.
"You have a meeting with the stockholders of Wayne Enterprises in two hours, then a trip to go see the new plant in New York. So you should get ready, while I go start breakfast…"
Bruce picked up another pillow, stuffing it over his head. He wanted back into his dream. To feel her hands on him, her lips pressed against his. It just wasn't fair. He stifled a moan.
And in his mind, her words still rang, You don't yearn for me the way I do you…Don't take too long, Bruce…I can't wait forever…
"And don't forget, you have a Justice League meeting later tonight."
This was going to be a long day.
A/N: I really need to stop writing Batman/Wonder Woman drabbles when I have things to do.
