Ron couldn't understand it. She could make him laugh and cry, love and hurt, scream and whisper, all at the same time. He had never felt that way before. Some would call it love, yes, but he wasn't sure what to call it. It was more than that, even when it seemed like there was nothing there at all.

He looked across the common room. There she was. Talking to Ginny, whirling her hair on her finger, she never looked more beautiful. He couldn't help but feel a pang in his heart as he thought about how he could never have her. No matter how much he wanted her to know how he felt, he couldn't face that rejection.

She looked over and smiled at him. That same smile that made him weak in the knees and made his spirits soar, that made his heart flutter and melt. All the candy in Honeydukes couldn't compare to how much he loved her.

He turned away, but decided today was the day. No matter what it took, he was going to admit his feelings for her. Even if it did mean rejection.

i Wandering the streets in a world underneath it all
Nothing seems to be
Nothing tastes as sweet as what I can't have
Like you and the way that you're
Twisting your hair 'round your finger
Tonight I'm not afraid to tell you
What I feel about you

Oh, I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
Cannonball into the water
I'm gonna muster up every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will, for you I will

Forgive me if I stutter
From all of the clutter in my head
Cause I could fall asleep in those eyes
Like a waterbed
Do I seem familiar
I've crossed you in hallways a thousand times
No more camouflage I want to be exposed and not be afraid to fall /i

"Hermione, can I talk to you for a second?" Ron asked, standing right beside the chair she was elegantly sitting in.

She looked up at him with those gorgeous chocolate brown eyes. She got out of her chair and followed him out of the portrait hole. He had no clue where they were going, or what he was going to say. They found themselves walking along the grounds towards the Black Lake.

Once they had reached the banks, Ron grabbed Hermione's hand and turned her to face him. With a deep breath, Ron said, "Hermione, I need to tell you something very important, but you have to promise to let me finish before you talk."

Hermione nodded and Ron continued, "We've been through a lot together over the past 7 years. I know we fight, but underneath it all I've always felt something more coming out of our fights. Hermione, I love you."

Ron let go of Hermione's hand and turned to walk away, a tear slowly rolling down his face. He felt someone slide their hand into his, and turned around to find Hermione standing behind him, crying. He stepped towards her and she said, "Ronald Weasley, that has to be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me."

Before Ron knew what was happening, he felt a warm sensation coursing through his body. He looked down to see Hermione kissing him. It was awkward at first, but they both relaxed and enjoyed each other's presence.
