The Hogwarts Express moved steadily down the tracks, everyone onboard silently grieving. The loss of Professor Dumbledore had come as a shock to everyone. Even the first years had shed a few tears at the funeral.

But Ginny Weasley had had it the hardest that day. She had to cope with the loss of the greatest headmaster Hogwart's has ever seen…and the love of her life.

Of course she respected his decision and knew he really cared about her. But she still couldn't help feeling sad. She had told Hermione, of course, and all she had to say was, "Things will turn out for the better."

Not the best ending way to end the term.

Empty spaces fill me up with holes
Distant faces with no place left to go
Without you within me I can't find no rest
Where I'm going is anybody's guess

I try to go on like I never knew you
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is

Ginny looked across the small compartment. Ron and Hermione had sat together (leaving Ginny sitting by Harry) and were now fast asleep, Hermione's head on Ron's shoulder. Ginny felt tears well up in her bright blue eyes, but she instantly pushed them back. She didn't want Harry feeling worse than he already did.

She risked a quick glance over at him. He was staring out the window, a blank expression on his face. He must have felt her gaze, because he turned toward her. She quickly averted her gaze to the ground.

"Ginny…" she heard him mutter next to her. She didn't look at him, or even act like she heard him. He sighed and continued, "Gin, you know I care about you. If this war weren't going on, you know I would do anything to still be with you. The thing is Ginny…I love you."

Salty tears rolled down her cheeks, and she felt Harry's arm wrap around her shoulders.

She could tell he was crying too. They sat there like that, until Harry finally let go. He wiped his eyes, and muttered under his breath, "But I just can't be with you right now."

I don't mean to drag it on,
But I can't seem to let you go
I don't wanna make you face this world alone
I wanna let you go alone

I try to go on like I never knew you
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is
