"Would you shut that thing up!" Hojo screamed at Gast. Baby Sephiroth had been screaming his little head off for an hour and Hojo's head was beginning to feel like someone was dancing on it. But sadly, it was Gast's day off. Hojo groweled. If this kid cried one more time, he would give him even more Mako shots. "SHUT UP!" he screamed at the crib that lay in the center of the lab.
Of course, Baby Sephiroth stops crying for no one, ever. He sighed as he went over to the crib. He fed Sephiroth ten minutes ago and changed him, despite his hate for anything to do with babies. Gast was usually here for that but today there was not such luck. He looked down at the baby. Sephiroth's usual pale skin was beet red from crying so much. The I.V's and suction cups on him only made him look less like a baby and more like a test subject. But that's all that Hojo saw him as.
Hojo stared down at the baby with an angry expression. "Okay kid, I have work to do. So you shut up or you'll get next week's Mako shots now." He said. This threat only made the crying worse. Hojo stuck his finger at the child. "Now listen here-" He was interrupted by Sephiroth grabbing his finger and putting it in his mouth. Hojo pulled his hand away. Sephiroth giggled at the man's attempt to wipe the baby drool off.
Hojo took a better look at the crib. Gast had left mundane toys and most infants love to play with, only Sephiroth was no normal infant. He had broken most of the toys except for two, a set of play keys and a plushie of that man. Vincent. Lucrecia gave it to Sephiroth before she left him. Hojo picked up the plushie. Sephiroth reached for the plushie, whining in his baby talk.
Hojo smiled as he ripped the head off the Vincent plushie. In that moment, he laughed as he remembered the look on Vincent's stupid face when he shot him. The heart-stopping scream drove him from the fantasy. Sephiroth cried loudly, seeing his favorite toy broken. Hojo sighed. "Its okay, little one. Here, have a pooh head." He said, taking a beheaded Pooh Bear and giving it to the baby, getting it thrown back.
"God, your hard to please, just like me." Hojo said. Sephiroth only cried louder. Hojo took the play keys and waved them in the baby's face. Sephiroth pushed them away as his face got even redder. Hojo sighed. "Fine then. I'll fix the damn thing." He said, as the baby quieted a little. He left with a scowl on his face. It was at that moment the relationship between Hojo and Sephiroth was understood.
