Naruto mused that he always sort of…. enjoyed his arguments with Sasuke. It wasn't particularly that he liked arguing, it was just, sort of… fun. He loved winding Sasuke up. He loved Sasuke attempting to wind him up (although neither would admit to ever being wound up themselves). He loved the foreseeable sparring that followed their fights. All in all, Naruto actually quite enjoyed arguing with Sasuke.
Take this morning, for example. It'd started as a normal mission, and only progressed once Sakura had left to go collect logs. Things always kicked off when Sakura left to go collect logs.
And so, it was practically inevitable that Naruto's ramen would go missing, and that Sasuke would be the first person for him to blame.
"Oi! Bastard!" Naruto yelled, throwing a rock at the Uchiha. "Why'd you eat the last of my ramen!"
Sasuke sent him a glare in return. "Why would I eat your ramen? It's foul."
"WHAT? That's stupid. You're stupid. And you ate my ramen!"
"I did not eat your ramen, dobe, I actually like to eat more nutritious foods than that."
"Why?" Naruto barked back at him. "Maybe if you didn't eat such 'nutritious foods', you wouldn't be so scrawny. You're really scrawny, Sasuke."
"I'm not. And we're ninjas, we're meant to eat nutritious foods. Although, I guess you wouldn't understand that."
"What d'you mean by that?"
This argument actually continued for a considerable amount of time. Even being made up of loose, one-worded arguments (occasionally accompanied by a scowl, glare, smirk, or a nearly inaudible 'hn' from the Uchiha's party), the argument still held enough strength to be strong three minutes later.
And that's when Naruto said the fateful words.
"You know what, Uchiha, you're just a complete and utter asshole! I don't know why I even bother arguing with you! So, y'know what? Screw you."
And that's exactly what he did.
So yeah, Naruto mused half an hour later; when he lay naked on the floor, a sleeping Uchiha's head lying on his midriff; yeah, he sort of enjoyed his arguments with Sasuke. Or at least, he loved winding the Uchiha up. He loved the Uchiha attempting to wind him up (although neither would admit to ever being wound up themselves). He loved the foreseeable sparring that followed their fights, and the way Naruto would always end up sort of… pinning Sasuke in a, shall we say, questionable position.
All in all, Naruto actually quite enjoyed arguing with Sasuke.
Oh, the joys of NaruSasu. The pure joys. Anyone who doesn't know, Quack says the T-shape is in two parts, and I (Quack) got the idea for this one-shot when T-shape sent me the start of a story she'd written where Naruto goes 'screw him' (but in a serious way) and dirty thoughts just buzzed through my mind. This was therefore inevitable.
