A/N: Short fic for you. I hate not being able to write as much when stressed with school and whatnot, so I wrote this tonight in hopes of recovering.
FanFic 100 Challenge Prompt #: 089- "Work"
All Work and No Play?
Albus leaned back against the door frame as he watched his wife, seemingly oblivious to his presence, shuffle through the stack of parchment before her. She sighed softly and pushed her square-rimmed glasses back onto the bridge of her nose. Her lips thinned as she deepened the concentration on her work, her body moving tensely as if her muscles pained from the constant labor of maintaining her body's rigid structure. Albus smiled faintly to himself. Minerva had never quite allowed herself sufficient time for relaxation, but he knew precisely how to change this, at least for the time being.
Albus stepped forward into Minerva's office, bringing with him the light but distinct fragrance of lemon sweets. It was this that had instantly captured Minerva's attention. She looked up and met Albus's glistening blue eyes closing in on her. He bent down to a mere few inches in front of her face and, just as she opened her mouth to speak, pulled her into a passionate kiss. As they parted, Albus felt her inquiring gaze upon him.
"What was that for?" she asked, cheeks hot and lips swollen from the heat of the moment.
"For being you, my dear."
Minerva smiled and pushed her work aside as he pulled her from her seat, making a mental note to be herself more often.
