On the day that Alex was released from the hospital, the drive to Bobby's apartment was silent. It was decided that she would stay with him because she wasn't eager to enter her own home yet, and Bobby wasn't eager to let her out of his sight, ever. He knew that it might now happen, so he settled for not letting her out of his sight unless it was absolutely necessary. When they reached their destination, Bobby immediately got out and went around to help Alex, opening the door and offering his hand as she got out of the car. Placing a hand on the small of her back, he led her inside.

While Alex normally didn't like being helped, she didn't voice a complaint. She knew that Bobby wanted to help her to ease his own guilt and because he had been just as shaken by what had happened as she had been.

As soon as they were in his apartment and the door was shut, Bobby gently drew Alex to him, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face in the crook of her neck. Alex tensed at first, then relaxed into the embrace. She brought her hand up to Bobby's head and stroked his hair, breathing in the scent of him.

"I'm okay, Bobby," she whispered.

They stood there in the embrace for sometime, each drawing comfort from the other. Eventually Bobby released his hold on her.

"You must be tired, Alex. Do you want to lie down?" he asked.

Alex nodded and Bobby led her to his bedroom. He pulled back the covers and helped her into bed. "Do you need anything? If you're hungry I could make you something…"

Alex placed a hand on his arm. "Just lay here with me?" she asked.

Bobby smiled, taking off jacket and shoes, then joining her. He pulled the blankets over them. He lied on his back and put his arm around Alex when she curled up against him.

"I'm sorry," he said, breaking the silence.

Alex lifted her head and looked at him. "For what?"

"Everything. She took you to get to me. To get my attention and her father's. He-" Bobby cleared his throat, trying to get rid of the lump that was forming. "He told me to accept the fact that you were dead. I didn't though! I couldn't…" A tear rolled down his cheek.

Alex leaned in and kissed the tear away. "Bobby … I don't blame you. So please, stop blaming yourself."

Bobby's arm tightened arm around her, holding her close to him. "I need you in my life, Alex," he whispered. "I … I love you."

Alex looked into his eyes, but said nothing. Bobby took that as a sign that she didn't reciprocate his feelings and started to apologize. But he'd hardly opened his mouth when he was silenced by Alex's lips on his. He brought up the arm that wasn't holding Alex and he put his hand on her cheek, pulling her closer and deepening the kiss. Alex teased his lips with her tongue. Bobby acquiesced and opened his mouth, deepening the kiss even more. The kiss ended a few moments later, and they rested their foreheads against each other.

"I love you too, Bobby," Alex said, kissing him softly. Then she whispered in his ear, "Make love to me?"

And he did.
