Stare

Summary: "Your attraction to me could be dangerous, if it makes you do things like this." Kyro one-shot.

Timeframe: Pre-X2? Or you could call it an AU where John never left. I don't know.

Archive: In the unlikely event that someone would actually want to archive this – ask and I'll say yes. Just let me know where it's going.

Disclaimer: All things recognisably X-Men are obviously not mine. I just like making up my own stories.

A/N: Written for the prompt 'stare' on the theme of 'firsts' for the kittyandpyro livejournal community. I realise it's not really a 'first' as such, or even really related to my prompt, but hey! At least it got done!

"You're staring."

"So?" John asked, flicking his lighter and raising an eyebrow.

"So, it's not even there," Kitty said, crossing her arms. "And you can't see through my clothes, anyway."

"So take them off," he suggested with a lecherous grin.

Her eyes widened and she whacked his arm. He just laughed, the sound blending with the click of his lighter.

"Let me see it, and I'll stop staring."

"I can't believe you made me do this," she moaned.

"Made you? I didn't make you do it."

She scoffed. "So calling me a boring wimp, telling – no, ordering – me to do something 'fun' and then taking me there wasn't making me do it?"

"Exactly."

"Why do I even listen to you?"

"Because you're attracted to me, and if you didn't, you wouldn't get any of this," he replied, grabbing her and giving her a quick, hard kiss. "Now show me."

She sighed, lifted her shirt a little bit and turned around. There was a pause.

"That's it?"

"What do you mean, that's it? This is a big deal for me, you know that!"

"Yeah, I know. But you could have gotten something…bigger. And cooler-looking."

"Hey, this way if anyone else sees, I can just say that I'm showing my loyalties."

"True," John said, reaching out and tracing the small X inked on her lower back with his fingers. He smirked when she shivered at his touch. "You know, your attraction to me could be dangerous, if it makes you do things like this."

She dropped her shirt and turned around to face him, a faint blush staining her cheeks. "Yeah, well…your attraction to me could…uh…"

"What?" he asked, bending so that his face was close to hers. "Make me into a good guy?"

"Um…yeah," she replied faintly as he placed soft, light kisses on her jawbone.

He straightened up, a cocky grin on his face. "Sorry, Kitten, that's not going to happen."

She stuck her tongue out at him, and his smirk widened.

"Now," he said, flicking his lighter and wiggling his eyebrows. "Let me see it again. And this time, lift your shirt up higher. Maybe up to your neck."

He was answered with another whack, and the soft sound of her disbelieving laughter.
