One of these days

One of these days, Will Turner would be able to forget Jack Sparrow. He knew he could.

Will had not seen the man for so many years. He had since married Elizabeth, though she had died just months into the marriage. A terrible fever, following her father to an early grave.

One of these days, Will Turner would be able to forget Jack Sparrow. It was just common sense.

It had been two decades since he had last seen the Captain. He and Elizabeth had saved him from the gallows, and he'd sailed away into the horizon. He'd heard tales of the Black Pearl and its eccentric captain, of course. Who hadn't? However, he'd had no contact with the man himself in those twenty years.

One of these days, Will Turner would be able to forget Jack Sparrow. He knew that if he just kept telling himself, it would make it easier.

He knew the man wasn't going to slip out of the shadows or crash the town once more. But that didn't stop him looking round corners and into dark alleyways just in case he was.

One of these days, Will Turner would be able to forget Jack Sparrow. It would be hard, but he could do it.

It would be difficult to forget the somersaults his stomach had made around Jack. It would be difficult to forget the shared kisses and caresses. It would be difficult to forget the way Jack's fingers had danced across his skin. But he could manage.

One of these days, Governor Will Turner would be able to forget Captain Jack Sparrow. He just wasn't sure he wanted to.
