Every Time

*Another* Takari songfic. The song belongs to Jessica Andrews and I don't own
Digimon either blah blah blah. TK and Kari are 16 in this. Tai and Matt are 19.

Kari sat watching TV on a Friday night when the phone rang. "Hello, Kamiya
residence...Yes, this is her, oh hi TK.....Sure!....See you then." She hung up and grabbed
her coat.
"Mom! TK and I are going to have a picnic!"
"What? But it's 8 o'clock!"
"We're going stargazing too."
"Ok, be back by 11."
"I will."
She met TK at the beach and he set up the blanket he'd brought.
"See, there's Virgo, and Scorpio's over there." TK pointed.
"Hey, does that one look like Angemon to you?"
"Yeah, it does!"

After awhile Kari started to shiver. "Why didn't I bring a jacket?" she joked, it was the
middle of July.
TK moved closer and put his arm around her shoulders. "Better?"
Kari nodded, a blush creeping into her cheeks.
She began to feel drowsy and her head dropped to TK's chest. He stiffened a moment
then relaxed.
"Hey Kari?"
"Hm?"
"Aishiteru."
Kari sat up. 'Oh Lord, he loves me!?! Well, I can think of worse things.' "I love you
too TK." she said aloud. She leaned her head in, and TK kissed her soundly on the lips. It
went on for quite a while, then they went back to star gazing.
Kari began to nod off again and this time TK let her. After a while TK fell asleep to,
Kari cradled gently in his arms.
It was like this that Tai and Matt found then about midnight. Mrs. Kamiya had started
to get worried and sent the boys out to find them.
"They won't let go of each other!" Matt grunted while trying to pry them apart.
"Oh well." Tai said. The two of them picked their younger siblings up and deposited
them in the back seat of Matt's Mustang convertible.
"You know, this reminds me of a song I know." Matt commented as they drove
toward home.
"How's it go?" Tai asked.

"I laid the blanket out on the shoreline
And saw the water shine with the moon.
What kind of fool would fail to notice,
The best thing that's shinin' was you.

I laughed kinda nervous,
I felt you move closer,
Felt the world unwind.

Once was a stranger,
Not quite a lover,
But steadily crossing the line.

Carry me
Far away
Don't hold back,
I won't break.
Leave the ghosts behind.

All I know,
Wrong or right,
Just the thought of this night,
Will get me every time.

A voice in my head said what are you doing?
And I thought not listinin' to you.
Ya see, I'm takin' a chance,
I'm thinkin' 'bout flyin',
Over the blue.

And it's crazy to be this out of practice,
And have it all come so naturally.
Don't you love knockin' logic right off it's axis,
And have it float far out to sea?

Carry me
Far away
Don't hold back,
I won't break.
Leave the ghosts behind.

All I know,
Wrong or right,
Just the thought of this night,
Will get me every time,
Every time.

"That does fit. Creepy." Tai said.
Matt nodded and glanced over his shoulder at the two lovers in the backseat, asleep
and clinging tightly to each other.
