Sakura was filled with Christmas cheer. She has always been ever since she was a little girl. She loves snow, presents, a lit tree, and a nice warm fire. Every year has usually been the same, except for this one. She would usually spend time with grandma and papa, visit with cousins, help out the hospital as a medic, and spend Christmas with family.
But this year was different. This year grandma and papa went out of town, the cousins were "too busy", the hospital didn't need her, and mom and dad weren't here. They died five months ago in a car crash. This was the first Christmas without mom and dad and Sakura felt utterly alone and useless.
She placed another ornament on the tree and then sighed as she looked over her work.
Even though she felt lost, she pushed it aside and tried to get into the holiday cheer.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang and Sakura ran to get. She expected it to be Naruto or Kakashi or carolers or Santa Clause himself than the person that was standing at her front door.
"Sasuke…" Sakura whispered.
"Hello Sakura," the Uchia muttered.
"Wh…Why are you here?" She asked confused.
"To wish you a Merry Christmas…what else?" Sasuke replied.
"Well, you just don't seem like the type that would wish someone a Merry Christmas…especially me," Sakura replied.
"Why wouldn't I wish you a Merry Christmas?" Sasuke asked.
"Because you call me annoying, you say I'm completely useless, and…and you weren't here last year…" Sakura replied as the memory of when Sasuke left the village resurfaced.
"I'm here now," He muttered. "And I would appreciate it if you would let me in."
"Oh! Of course!" Sakura exclaimed as she let the Uchia walk into her home.
He walked over to the sofa, next to the fireplace, and sat down. Sakura quickly did the same.
A silence fell that seemed to comfort yet unease Sakura.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Why wouldn't I be?" Sakura asked in return.
"You've been off when we train," He replied.
"I'm sorry," Sakura replied.
Of course… he would only come here to insult me…figures…
"Don't be," He said.
Another silence fell and it felt like hours before it was broken.
"I should go," He said.
"Alright," Sakura replied as she walked him to the door.
"Merry Christmas," Sakura replied.
Sasuke stood still in front of Sakura, not moving an inch.
"Sasuke? What's the matter?" She asked.
"Do you know what we are standing under?" He smirked.
Sakura looked up and found mistletoe.
"Oh…" She began to blush furiously and her heart began to pound.
"What is the custom the people do when they are in this situation? Kiss?" The Uchia asked, enjoying Sakura's embarrassment.
"I suppose s…" But Sakura did not finish as Sasuke's lips met Sakura's.
It felt like hours of pure bliss went by, when they finally tore apart.
"Merry Christmas Sakura," Sasuke muttered as he left Sakura standing beneath the mistletoe.
