Disclaimer: I own nothing ...
I cry cause you're not here with me
I cry cause I'm lonely as can be
I cry hopelessly
Cause I know I'll ever breathe your love again
I cry by Shayne Ward
Karen Walker sat alone in her big penthouse, she sat in her loveseat in the library with a glass of martini and olives in her hand. She sat thinking about everything and nothing. A tear slowly made its way down her cheek but she didn't wipe it away. Her thoughts wandered back to that dreadful day a few months ago, when she found out the most horrible of all, her best friend had been killed in a hit-and-run-accident. Jack was gone and she had never felt so alone. He was so much more than her best friend, he was her poodle, her daddy, the love of her life. She had been in love with him but she hadn't figured it out until it had been to late. Even if she had figured it out on time, it wouldn't have done any good since she knew he was gay, but he had at more than one occasion told her that he loved her, more than friends. She had never believed him though, they had always fooled around, making out, fondling, touching each other in places where they shouldn't.
Karen was sitting in her loveseat in the library sipping on a glass of martini without olives when Rosario entered:
"Ms Karen, mr Will is here to see you. He said he has important and sad news."
Will entered and Karen saw that he had been and still was crying.
"What is it Wilma?" she asked, starting to sound worried.
"It's Jack" Will whispered. "He's dead. Killed in a hit-and-run accident."
Karen felt her world starting to spin and all the color drained from her face. She dropped her martiniglass, not even hearing it shatter against the floor.
"What?" her voice shivered, close to tears.
She never showed any emotions, but this was to much even for her.
"Jack's gone" Will said, trying to steady his voice but failing.
He walked up to Karen and sat down next to her on the loveseat. The tears were glistening in his eyes and he saw that Karen's eyes welled up too. Soon she was sobbing so hard she had trouble breathing.
"No, not Jack" she screamed in pain.
Will took her in his arms and let her cry against his shoulder. He cried into hers. He realized that he had another person to break it to, Grace didn't know yet but he knew that he had to tell Karen first. Jack had been her best friend.
End of flashback
Karen felt her tears starting to flow more freely now. They always did when she thought about Jack. She couldn't believe that she would never see him again, his blue eyes.
"Oh Jack, I miss you so much" she whispered, trying to swallow the big lump she had in her throat.
Suddenly she heard a sound and she looked up towards the door. There he was, Will. The only one who she could confide in and the only one who had seen her emotional outbursts.
Will sat down next to her on the loveseat and wrapped his arms around her, allowing her to cry if she wanted to. She felt herself give in and felt big warm, salt tears run down her cheeks, soaking his shirt.
Will rubbed her back in a comforting way, but she knew that he too was devastated. Jack had been his best friend too.
"What will I do without him Will?" she sobbed.
