I never noticed before, but Sakura's eyes were a bright forest-green. I've never gotten close up enough to tell. They were so bright in fact, I wondered if they glowed in the dark.

Sakura has such pretty glow-in-the-dark-green eyes. My eyes are hazel so they don't glow in the dark.

I'm worried. Doesn't she have super strength or something? My hand subconsciously went to my cheek.

My fingers rubbed at a sore spot that wasn't there (Ino is looking at me funny).

I hope Sakura doesn't hit me. I think I'm starting to sound like Naruto

Sakura took a deep breath and said, "I hope you'll be happy together."

Sasuke took a step forward and his hand patted her little pink head.

She was emotionally stressed right now, okay? Naruto, of course, took the news much better.

"Thanks for understanding, Sakura."

After we said our see-you-laters, we left Ichiraku and headed to my team's training ground.

Sasuke grabbed a hold of my elbow. I turned to him.

I raised an eyebrow.

"…yeah?" I took secret pleasure from seeing him flinch. He hated it when I drawled out my words lazily like that. A trait I picked up from Shikamaru. Sometimes I did it on purpose just to get a rise out of him.

"I thought it went by pretty well. Care to elaborate?"

I grinned. "I know. I didn't expect it to go that smoothly, either. Can you believe I'm not beaten into a crater and left for half-dead at this very moment? You probably would have run off with Sakura, and-"

"-don't talk about my teammate that way. Once you get to know her better, she can be very understanding."

Really, boyfriends are such a hassle.

I rolled my eyes.

"Sure, she is."

Sasuke glared.

I sniffed.

I held his hand and squeezed it as if asking for forgiveness. It was a cute gesture and I could feel his hands tighten around mine.

He scowled.

"You're such a pain."

"I like you, too!"

I smiled and started swinging our hands childishly.

I was glad that the whole affair with Sakura (and Naruto) was over. Sure, we didn't have to tell our teammates about our relationship, but we decided it was far less complicated to tell them now than to have them find out later. Getting the a-okay from your friends could never be a bad thing. Speaking of which…

"You know, Neji and Lee just might kill you when we tell them."

Sasuke paled.

His hand subconsciously went to his cheek to check if his jaw was still intact.

I grinned and kissed his cheek.
