Hey everyone! I hope you like this poem! I thought of it yesterday and it wouldn't leave me alone till I finished it. So I finished it and now I am posting it! It's about how God is more important than everything in the world…it's better than it sounds so please read and review!! I love to hear what you think of it! But if you don't like it then please don't review, it discourages us writers.

Time

He said to her, "Come and sit for a while, talk to me."

She said, "No, I have too much to do, maybe next time."

He smiled at her and said, "OK, I'll be looking forward to it."

She then ran out the door, not looking back.

The next week, he came to her again and said, "Come and sit for a while, talk to me."

She again said, "No, I can't, I have a huge paper due, maybe next time."

He smiled at her and said, "OK, I'll be looking forward to it."

She ran to her desk and began to write, staying up till the wee hours of the night.

The next week at church he came to her and said, "When you're finished here, come and sit for a while, talk to me."

She shook her head and whispered, "I can't, my friends and I are going to the mall, maybe later."

He smiled at her and said, "OK, I'll be looking forward to it."

This pattern continued for the next few years, He came to her and asked to talk.

She blew Him off, giving this excuse, then another, till her dying day.

She said to Him, "Come and sit for a while, talk to me."

And He looked at her and smiled, "I've been waiting for you, my child. What is it you would like to talk about?"

She stayed up all night, against her doctor's wishes, and spoke to Him.

When she was about to take her last breath, she looked at her friends and said:

"I have neglected my God for the past several years,

And I am convinced that this is why I am dying.

He wanted to spend some time with me, but I was too busy for Him.

Now, I look back and wish I had done more.

But when I came to Him, he welcomed me back with open arms.

"Don't let this happen to you.

Allow yourself a little time to talk to Him, to just be with Him.

He is more important than any paper, any job, anything on the street or computer.

"So when you hear Him say, 'Come and sit for a while and talk to me,'

take some time and just talk to Him, for he knows what's going on and he can help."

She smiled when they all nodded, and she took heart and quoted Matthew 28:19,

"Go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

She took her last breath and smiled, "I'm going home."
