I've been having writing fever lately. Hehe, my cousin is writing a...companion story to this one. It's not up yet. Mostly because she hasn't typed it yet. (Grumble) but I'll let you all know when she does!

Disclaimer: I do not own any characters in "Naruto". And you dont want me to. Trust me. You really dont.

Warning: Swear word and OOCness. You have been warned.

Even though he doesn't flaunt it, eighteen year old Shikamaru Nara was a genius. He has an IQ of over two hundred and if you give him a few moments, he could, without a doubt figure out the hardest of problems, think of any strategy, figure out any person and any futile flaw in any enemy plan. Yes, Shikamaru Nara was most definitely a genius.

You may even go so far as to say that Shikamaru understood everything there was to know there was to know about anything, right?

Wrong. There is one thing the eighteen year old genius will never understand. And that thing was…

Girls. Especially a certain blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl, seventeen year old Ino Yamanaka.

Now, don't get him wrong, he's tried to understand Ino.

And he's failed.

Every.

Single.

Time.

Repeatedly.

Constantly.

Failure after failure.

Naturally, Shikamaru would deem her as "troublesome" and not even try to figure the girl out, but to his complete and utter surprise and confusion, he could not bring himself to ignore her.

"I hate you, Shikamaru!"

"I love you, Shikamaru!"

"God, Shikamaru, why are you such a fuckin' idiot?!"

"Shika-kun, you are such a genius!"

"No one likes me!"

The girl had more mood swings then a pregnant woman. Yet… he had to pay attention to her, had to listen to her. No matter what her mood for that moment was…

Anger…

Rage…

Happiness…

Sadness…

All of them. He'd act indifferent; like he didn't care, even telling her, "Go away, you damn troublesome woman." Even, at times, acting like he was ignoring her, but he couldn't.

Ino Yamanaka was impossible to ignore.
