Give Me One Reason To Steer.
She... she did not just say that. Jack blinked in bewilderment, for once at a loss of words as Angela tilted her chin upwards, defiant.
"What?" He asked, frowning because she was pulling his leg and he wasn't going to let her.
"You heard me," Angela folded her arms over her chest, arching an eyebrow at him - he hated it when she did that, and she knew it.
"Let me get this straight," He leaned against the desk, because he felt he was going to do something stupid, like falling down, and she would never let him live it down, "The only reason you can give me for me to remain working here, taking abuse from that macho egocentric freudian disaster generally known as Booth and the new miss power Cam is that you'd be lonely?"
"Well, that and that I would probably do something very un-Angela if you go and leave me here between the love triangle and Zack - you know that I can barely get what's he's talking about half the time."
Jack arched an eyebrow, mimicking her posture. Despite the uneasy tension that flared up between them, the unsaid things that were weighting them down, he smirked.
Before Angela could reply, Zack bursted into the room.
"Dr. Hodgins, you have to see this..." He trailed off as Jack glared at him and Angela sighed in exhasperation. "Um... it can wait."
He disappeared as soon as possible, fearing for his life.
"Another day, another corpse, right?" Jack snorted and pushed himself off the desk, heading to the door.
"Jack, wait," Angela smiled, "Just... I mean it, alright? Don't leave."
He looked at her for a moment, then smirked, shrugging.
"I'll think about it."
