This is just a little drabble I had to write based on a line Vala said in episode 10x14 'The Shroud'. So I suppose small spoilers for that episode as well as I guess season 9. When I heard her said that line it got me thinking how cute it would be to see Daniel and Vala in normal everyday activities, you know... in between saving the world.

"So, what the hell is going on?" - Daniel
"Oh, this and that. You're not going to believe what's been happening on One Life to Live." – Vala

"Daniel…." Vala yelled as she came running down the hall to his office. It was almost two and she was certain he was too absorbed in his new translations to remember to get the tv ready for her. Without thinking twice about what it was that she wanted or even looking up from his book he picked up the channel changer and turned on the television.

Vala watching One Life to Live with Daniel, or rather, in Daniel's office had become a daily ritual between the two of them. It wasn't that Daniel enjoyed soap operas; it was quite the opposite in fact. The acting was, well, it was terrible and the plotlines were far fetched and unbelievable but it kept Vala relatively quiet for an hour. As much as he would never admit it to her, he was being drawn into the show more and more each day. Having thought about the reason for it he decided it probably had everything to do with that fact that he thought it was adorable the way Vala become so absorbed in the characters lives. She would talk to the tv as if they could hear what she was saying and he found himself wanting Spencer dead just as much as she did.

He was deep in thought when Vala came racing into his office and hopped onto the couch, crossing her legs underneath her like a little kid. 'She does look adorable when she's excited' he thought to himself as he walked around the table to sit next to her on the couch. It was the first time he had ever stopped his work to come watch the show with her and the simple act brought a smile to Vala's face.

"I knew you liked the show." Vala said teasingly as the show began to start.

Daniel faked a look of denial and smiled as he realized that he was happy that one hour of bad television could rejuvenate both of them so completely. The Ori were a big problem, one that had to be solved quickly but in that hour nothing mattered but them and all the lives of Llanview, PA.

"I guess I'm coming around to it." Daniel said as he leaned back against the couch and watched the show with Vala, enjoying the feeling of contentment and warmth at being so close to her. He looked forward to their hour breaks from reality.

Ok, well, now that I got that out of my system I can get on to other things. I hoped you enjoyed it!!
