Disclaimer: You know the drill... They're not mine.

AN: Just something I thought up in about two minutes. Just another teeny, tiny ficlet written because I'm in the mood to make characters cry.

She's dead.

"She's not," he said fiercely. "You're lying."

She's dead.

"She can't be." He shook his head and stumbled backwards towards his father's desk. "I was just with her."

She's dead.

"You don't understand. That's impossible." He clutched the desk, trying to keep from collapsing. "I just saw her a few hours ago."

She's dead.

"No. It's not true." His head couldn't stop shaking with denial. "I just spoke with her."

She's dead.

"I just spoke with her," he repeated, louder. "She's going to leave him. She's going to leave him and we'll finally be together."

She's dead.

"Stop saying that," he screamed as his knees buckled. "We're finally going to be together. I swear it."

She's dead.

"No, she's not." He slid down the front of the desk. "We agreed. We agreed to leave them so we can be together."

She's dead.

"I've wanted this for so long," he said, pressure building behind his eyes. "I've needed this. You don't understand. She can't be."

She's dead.

"No, it's not true." His head sagged against his chest. "Please tell me you're lying."

She's dead.

"But I just got her." He looked up at his father as tears began sliding down his cheeks. "I just got her."

Lee, Kara's dead.
