Summary: Miss Parker wonders if Jarod will ever be able to trust her again after all that has happened in their past. Suspicious Minds

It had been over six months since Carthis.

And it was still her job to return him to the Centre.

He hadn't called, just left a few red notebooks and other clues.

Her inner sense had become stronger and she knew that she could bring him back now.

If she wanted.

But that was no longer an option.

She had realized that she had never really wanted him to be back at the Centre.

Nobody wants their best friend to spend life in prison. Or worse: In the Centre.

If he only knew …

But if he knew they would get in even worse trouble.

We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby

She had only two options: Returning him and leaving the Centre or letting him remain free and staying.

And because she now believed what her inner voice was telling her – that she had never stopped loving him – she knew that she had to make sacrifices.

But in comparison to his sacrifices it was nothing.

Or at least, that's what she tried to tell herself.

Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?

Sometimes she was angry at herself for all the times she had told him to go to hell, to just leave her alone.

He had never believed that she wanted him to let her live her lonely life.

Jarod had wanted her to be happy.

That's why he had sent her Thomas.

But on the other hand, he never seemed to realize that he was the one she really wanted, really needed.

We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds

She wanted him to be happy. That's what he deserved. That's what even she deserved despite all the bad things she had done.

Her inner voice told her that he loved her.

So why couldn't he just tell her that he wanted her?

Why didn't he trust her enough to tell her the truth?

Maybe they could bring the Centre down if they were together. Or maybe they could run as fast as they could and never look back …

So if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?

That's why she listened to her inner voice and followed its instructions.

And then she stood in front of an apartment door in New York.

She knocked once, then twice.

He opened the door. Surprise spread all over his face to see her there. Without sweepers.

Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying

She just stood there unable to speak.

She looked at him.

He was still looking for a team of sweepers.

But he couldn't find any sign that would warn him that she wasn't alone.

The he saw her reddened eyes from the tears she hadn't been able to keep back.

So he took one step back and let her in.

He closed the door and went into the living room.

He sat down on the couch sure that she would follow him

And so she did.

"How did you find me?"

She sat opposite to him.

"Would you believe me that it was luck?"

He shook his head no.

"That's what I thought. – I followed my inner sense."

He hesitated for a moment.

Then he understood that she could have found him for a long time.

"Why now?"

How should she tell him what she wanted?

"I needed to see you. Hear your voice. – You haven't called since Carthis."

She swallowed hard.

"I've missed you."

We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds

Would he believe her?

After all she'd done he had all reasons not to trust her.

She looked into his eyes.

All he saw was honesty and love …

Oh let our love survive
Or dry the tears from your eyes
Lets don't let a good thing die

He took her into his arms.

"I've missed you, too."

When honey, you know
I've never lied to you
Mmm yeah, yeah

THE END

P.S. Just a little one-shot I needed to write.
