Disclaimer: I do not own Prince of Tennis.

She had been crying on the rooftop when he found her.

As the rooftops door closed behind him, she looked up at him. She looked so vulnerable sitting there. He rushed to her side quickly.

He embraced her. "Don't think about him. He doesn't deserve you." He told her, holding her tightly.

She sobbed unto his shirt, soaking it with her tears. "It hurts Sysuuke." She sobbed. "It hurts so much."

Fuji closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down. Of course, he knew that this would happen. He knew she would confess to him and that he would reject her. Why didn't he stop her? If he stopped her, maybe she wouldn't be suffering from this pain.

'Damn you Echizen.' Fuji cursed at him.

He clutched tighter the girl in his arms. "Shh. He doesn't deserve you." He repeated to her, hoping it would calm her down.

Hoping for things, never means it will actually work.

"No Sysuuke! I'm the one that doesn't deserve him!" She yelled into his shirt. "He's got grace, talent, skill…" She trailed off sobbing.

"No, no, no." He told her. "Stop crying. Don't ever think you don't deserve him. You know why? Because you're beautiful, smart, talented in both singing and dancing, graceful except for the minor tips here and there, helpful, caring and you care about others so much. And if any guy would even think of hurting you, I'd, I'd make sure they'd regret it."

Sakuno was speechless.

"And," Fuji wasn't finished yet. "And I know this is stupid to tell you this right now when you're hurting so much, but I don't care because I might not be able to have enough courage to say this again. I like you ok? But I'm not telling you the complete truth. What I feel for you is a lot stronger than 'like' and is peaking at love. Hopefully, you'll give me a chance one day."

Sakuno just stared at him.

Fuji was getting nervous. "Sakuno? Say something. Please?"

'I knew I shouldn't have told her. Baka, baka, baka!'

"Listen Sakuno, I-" He wasn't able to finish.

Sakuno had put her lips over his. Before he could respond, she had pulled away. She looked away blushing.

Now it was Fuji's turn to stare.

"Sysuuke, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." She told him not looking at him. "The truth is, I used to have a crush on you as well. But I thought that you would never return my feelings. That's why I decided to focus all my attentions on Ryoma…"

Fuji smiled. He was surprised as well as shocked. He put his hand under her chin and made her look at him.

"That's not fair. I didn't get a say in it?" He surprised her by kissing her as passionately as he could.

He pulled back to mutter one word before swooping in for another kiss.
