As a child he loved her and even now as he is getting ready to be married to her sister, he loved her still.
Theodore Lawrence, also known as Laurie to his friends and Teddy to the woman that he loved felt a deep sense of pain sear through his chest as he looked at pictures of his youth. If only he could go back to those carefree days when he truly felt happy…happy with the one he loved.
Those days are gone now, along with his youth and love for life. For Laurie, the day Jo March refused him was the day he died.
Laurie hated her almost as much as he loved her. He did everything to make the pain she caused go away…but it was useless. Jo March had already stolen his heart and soul.
He was so sure that he and Jo were meant to be with each other. He even believed they were soul mates.
However, apparently, Jo thought otherwise.
Jo's refusal almost drove him to ruin his life, that is, until fate brought Amy and him together again.
When Laurie first saw her he was quite taken back. The spoiled, clumsy Amy he knew had grown up to become a rather fetching and fine lady.
Seeing Amy again brought back painful memories for Laurie but it also woke up the real him that he thought he had forever lost. Such was the power of a March sister.
He felt for the first time since the day Jo refused him that perhaps, just maybe, he had a chance to be happy…to become once again the Laurie that the March sisters have grown to love.
Jo once spoke of him finding love again and forgetting all about her. His first mistake was thinking that Amy was the girl who could make him happy again. His second mistake was thinking that he would someday forget about Jo.
