Note: While the vote is not in yet as to whether or not "Unexpected Results" will have a 'pairing' yet, there is no denying that there is something of a bond being forged between Johanna and Abel. It is not romantic in nature, by any stretch of the imagination, but it is very, very real.
And while listening to Loreena McKennitt's "The Mystic's Dream," the rhythm of this poem came to mind and wouldn't let go.
What really intrigues me, though... is a single question - which one of them is talking?
Through a Glance Darkly
I turn to find your gaze upon me
A gaze filled with tears
A gaze filled with dark fire
A gaze that stirs my memory
I've never seen eyes like yours
Your eyes are mirrors
Your eyes are wells
Your eyes are stars
Your eyes have seen so much
So much pain
So much sorrow
So much death
The past is there in your eyes
A past that could draw me in
A past that could tear me apart
A past that could consume me
Eyes that shimmer with tears
Tears of loss
Tears of joy
Tears of regret
Flames dance in the depths of your eyes
A fire that warms
A fire that glows
A fire that burns
What are you looking for in my eyes?
What do you seek?
What do you need?
What do you see?
Why do your eyes often seek out mine?
Glances across crowded rooms
Glances across the space of a single breath
Glances from the depths of my memory
Whose faces haunt those eyes of yours?
The ones you've lost?
The ones you've killed?
The ones you've loved?
Your gaze pulls me in
Into your arms
Into your soul
Into your fire
And I can see through your eyes
Through eyes shedding tears of blood
Through eyes shining sparkles of hellfire
Through eyes singing to me of home
