Author's Note: I know, I know... I should be working on my other fic "Morgan Magick" (God, I should have picked a better title…) but right now I'm trying to organize a lot of things, trying to make it a less cluttered mess. And besides, while I am a DxS shipper, I like to play around with other couples. Particularly DxV… Anyways, sorry if it's a bit short for your liking.

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom. There! Happy now?

Valerie watched as him as he ran through the field. A smirk tugged at her lips and she slowly shook her head at him…"Pathetic." she whispered and went after him...

Danny was exhausted, panting, and tired to a point where his body just couldn't take it any longer. He checked to see if Valerie was far enough away from him before he hid amongst the tall grass.

Well, it was safe…for now…

His ears suddenly picked up on the sound of footsteps, and he closed his eyes, praying they would continue their way toward somewhere else and not where he was. They stopped, and he opened his eyes as a shadow loomed over him.

He looked up to find Valerie's green eyes looking down at him, her face creased into a wide smirk. Danny's heart paced as he recognized that look- it was the look of the predator once she found her prey...

Danny rolled and twisted out of the way before Valerie aimed. He started to run again, but, then it was too late…

Valerie aimed…she pulled the trigger…then…. "Gaaaah!" Danny yelled as soon as he felt the icy-cold water splash against his back.

He glared over his shoulder, at Valerie who chuckled lightly. "Hey, don't give me that look," Valerie said smugly, "It's not my fault, you lost your gun in the middle of the game!"

Danny just sighed. He should never have agreed to a water gun fight with his girlfriend. Damn, she was deadly...

Author's note: Ok, maybe it could've been a better DxV, I'll agree with you on that. But honestly, it also pretty much gave me a good excuse on developing on my writing skills, and an excuse to try a writing technique I've liked- Misdirection.

Seriously, I always loved a story with one hell of a good twist. And hopefully you guys fell for it. Anyways, read, review, comment, and critique- which will be happily appreciated.
