Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. I jolly well wish I did though, cos Rose would come back and Martha wouldn't be around. But oh well.

A/N: Set right at the end of the season one episode 'Rose' and is a bit of a laugh. Finally, a HAPPY song fic! Ta to Howard Goodall for the song!

"By the way, did I mention it also travels in time?"

Rose looked at him and smiled. She turned to Mickey.

"Thanks."

"Thanks for what?" Mickey looked at her puzzled.

"Exactly." And she kissed him, turned and ran towards the TARDIS, towards the Doctor.

As she walked through the door, she suddenly remembered the lyrics to a song. Mickey had made her sit through re-runs of Red Dwarf, they were funny, sure, but she got bored after first two series or so. But the theme song lyrics had always stuck in her head. And suddenly, there in the TARDIS she found her self singing them in her head.

"It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere,

I'm all alone, more or less.

Let me fly, far away from here,

Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun. "

As the Doctor flicked switches and pressed buttons, she realized that they were traveling through.. nothing, and that she was alone apart from a complete stranger. What was she thinking?! Rose knew what she was thinking, the line "Let me fly, far away from here" was the answer. With no job, no A levels, no nothing, traveling like this wasn't going to make her loose anything.

"I want to lie, shipwrecked and comatose,

Drinking fresh mango juice.

Goldfish shoals, nibbling at my toes,

Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun,

Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun."

She thought about the next verse. She had no idea what time and space was like, what other planets were like. She'd 'met' the Nestene Conscience which wasn't exactly nice, but she did hope that there were planets out there where there were nice, well, Aliens out there. And that there were places where she wouldn't end up saving the planet. Although, the adrenalin that pumped through her body as she was swinging on that rope was incredible.

"I'll pack my bags, and head into hyperspace,

Velocity at time-warp speed.

Spend my days in ultraviolet rays,

Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun."

'I'll do that! He'll take me on this trip and then we'll go back and I'll get some stuff, and we'll go off again.. if he wants to that is.' She glanced over at the Doctor. He was looking at her a small smile creeping up his face.

"We'll lock on course, straight through the universe,

You and me, and the galaxy.

Reach the stage, hyperdrive's engaged,

Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun,

Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun."

Suddenly Rose heard a voice with a northern accent in her mind, singing the lyrics to the last verse. She started and looked up at the Doctor.

"The TARDIS read your thoughts and told me." He stroked the console. "So what do you say? You and me, and the galaxy?"

Rose beamed. "Definatly."
