Who Made The Coffee?
Prompt: #030. Coffee Mug
Notes: Written for housefic50.
"Here. Have this."
House glanced up from the file he'd been studying for the past two hours to see Cameron standing by his desk, a coffee mug in one hand. Her face was devoid of expression, even as she watched him a moment before dutifully placing the mug within easy reach and turning to leave, clearly not expecting a response from him.
"Thank you," House muttered, as she neared the door. "Coffee?"
Cameron glanced back at him and smiled softly. "Yes," she confirmed. "You've been working for hours without a break and I thought you might need it."
House raised an eyebrow thoughtfully. "You thought I might need it? What? You think I'm senile or something?"
He sniggered as his sarcastic remark had its desired effect: a flustered Cameron trying to apologise profusely to him. So hot.
"No! No, of course not!" she exclaimed, shaking her head furiously. "I just thought that you might want some coffee because anyone who's been working that long…" She cut off suddenly as she noticed the smug expression on her boss' face.
"I know," House smirked. "Just joking around with you." He reached for the mug and took a mouthful, swishing it around in his mouth before swallowing. "It's good," he said, nodding. Another way to make her squirm came to mind and he quickly added, "Foreman or Chase make it?" before she disappeared from the room.
Cameron glared at him and put her hands on her waist indignantly. "What? You don't think I can make good coffee?"
House smirked some more. "No. Your coffee always sucks. Who made it?"
He watched as Cameron walked out, pausing in the doorway to glare at him again. "I did," she stated, before heading off.
"Thought so!" House grinned madly and stared after her for a moment before double taking. "Wait! You did!?" His mouth dropped open in surprise and he heard a snigger from Cameron off in the distance.
Shrugging dismissively, he called after her, "Got some more of this?"
